New Classes for March & April are posted!!

Class Policies:

· Sign ups will begin on Saturday, Feb 11 at 10 am for March & April Classes. Interested in a February class? Check with us there may still be openings. For a copy of our January & February Newsletter click here. For a copy of our March & April Newsletter click here.

· You may only sign up two people for each class/event (i.e. yourself & a friend)

· Class fee must be paid at time of registration.

· Telephone registrations will be held for payment for one week.

· Please get supply lists in advance. Most classes require some preparation.

· Please purchase supplies at our shop. (This helps if there is a cutting “oops” and you need more fabric!)

· 10% discount will be given on all fabrics, books, patterns, and notions for class projects.

· Class credit will be given if we are notified of cancellation at least ONE WEEK in advance. Sorry, NO REFUNDS.

· If class is full, please put your name on waiting list. *Waiting list people will be contacted first if class is repeated at a later time.

· If you like a class, but cannot make the time it is scheduled, please call to put your name on a waiting list specifying "different date".

Saturday Classes

Quilter’s Tote —This is a perfect totebag designed to carry your quilting mat, rulers, etc. to quilt classes! Outside pockets, designed with pieced blocks, hold your longer rulers. Scrappy Triangle Quilt —It’s time for another batik strip swap! We had fabulous quilts result from our last swap—now we’ve got another pattern to explore! Magazine purchase required. Saturday, February 24 10-4 with Valerie $25.00

Ready, Go! This is a fun and perfect quilt for a little man in your life! Primary colors, trucks, traffic lights– its quick and easy piecing. We have kits or you can choose your own fabric. Free pattern. March 3, 2012 10-4 with Sue $25.00

Tulip Purse — Just in time for Spring, this is the perfect purse to accessorize your wardrobe! The sample is the standard size but optional petite to jumbo sizes can be made as well. Closures can be made with a flap/magnet or use a big decorative button. Titled “Two-Hour Tulip Purse”, you’re sure to go home with a finished project! Pattern purchase required. Creative Vision/Creative Sensation Class Pillowcase Borders — A Shaping, Tapering and Precise Positioning lesson that will create a beautiful design for the border of a pillowcase. The creating will all be done in the machine and then we will use the design to stitch out a beautiful pillowcase cuff/border. March 24, 2012 10-4 with Maryanne $25.00

Bermuda Bag — This popular pocketbook is finally being offered on a Saturday! This great sized purse features inside pockets and zippered enclosure. Tennessee Waltz— This is another great timeless pattern from Quilt In A Day. Eleanor Burns and Sue Bouchard designed this quilt to get a curved look with straight stitching. Book purchase and rotary cutting experience required. Saturday, April 14—10-4 with Sue $25.00

Citrus Delight — Make this dramatic lap-sized quilt using 5 one-yard cuts from your favorite fabrics along with an accent color. Twin and Queen Sized options available. Rotary cutting and pattern purchase required. Saturday, April 21—10-4 with Mindy $25.00

Stack & Whack — This wonderful technique takes a large scale patterned fabric and creates amazing designs! We will be doing the LeMoyne Star pattern, learning the stacking, the whacking, and the sewing. If you haven’t learned this technique before, you’ll be amazed at how you’ll look at fabric differently! Book purchase required. Thurs April 26 6-9 AND Saturday, April 28 10-4 with Valerie $35.00

Weekday Classes

Beginning Quilting —This class will introduce you to the basic techniques of quilting while creating 3 wonderful projects. Classes will include the safe and proper use of the rotary cutter (needed for nearly all quilting projects of today), and achieving a 1/4 inch seam. Beginning Quilting will prepare you for nearly all classes presented at Quilts and Treasures, Inc. We’ll be happy to help you choose your fabrics. Class discount on all class supplies.

Beyond Beginning Quilting —So you’ve taken Beginning Quilting but not sure where to go from there? Mindy has chosen four different quilt patterns that will boost your confidence and result in fabulous quilts. You can even choose the size! Beginning Machine Quilting – This introductory class in Machine Quilting will teach you how to use your sewing machine to achieve beautiful results as an alternative to tying your quilts. The class will cover cross hatching, echoing, stippling, and other free motion techniques. Walking foot and darning (stippling) foot for your machine required. Quarter inch foot is helpful. If you need help in getting them, please let us know. Tuesday, Apr 24 & Tuesday, May 1 6:30-8:30 with Valerie $25.00

Big Stitch- Kim Diehl does it, so does Pepper Cory and Pat Sloan and so can you. You’ll love this different technique for hand quilting using the ‘quilting big stitch’. This fast, fun, and easy stitch is more casual than a regular hand quilting stitch and looks great on all sorts of projects.

Double The Pleasure —This embroidered table topper is made in the hoop and is reversible! Make it for Spring/Summer on one side and Fall/Winter on the other! Embroidery Potpourri — A great opportunity to work on those unfinished embroidery projects and have someone available for those quick questions or problems. April 10, 24, May 8, 22, June 12 & 26 2-4 pm with Maryanne/Sue $50.00

Embroidery Project of the Month — Please join us for embroidery projects that help us to understand, master our machines and “How To” embroidery techniques. Projects will vary & the purchase of kit and /or design/collection will be required if you do not already own one .****Open to all embroidery machine owners after you speak with Maryanne regarding what machine you own. There is pre-class preparation for this class.

Expression 2.0 and 3.0 —Bring your machine and lets go over the basics again of the features these wonderful Pfaff machines have as well as learn a few other tricks you can do with some basic accessory feet! Quilt Expression 4.0 —Bring your machine for a refresher on the basics and to learn All the wonderful extras this machine can do! We’ll cover buttonholes, free motion quilting, sequencing, and decorative stitch manipulation. Two week class. Thursday, March 29 and April 5 6:30-8:30 with Valerie $100.00 (If you purchased your machine with us the class is FREE!)

Quilter’s Potpourri — This class provides students the opportunity to work on a variety of projects with limited instruction. Class project must be approved by class instructor prior to class . $50.00 per session

Quilt Bindings 101 —You’ve made your top, you’ve had it machine quilted….now how do you put on the binding? Midnight Madness

Join us for an evening of fun, food, laughter, and sewing! These are great evenings to work on or finish projects, meet other sewers, and get some inspiration. We “lock” you in from 6 pm to midnight. You bring your own sewing machine and projects with a munchie to share. We provide the pizza. Doorprizes!

Scrap Club

New Session

Join Lizz Chiapponi as she inspires you to mix and match, cut and sort, use and swap your scraps while giving you great ideas and shortcuts for easy and functional blocks.

A new six month session is beginning in March. Convenient times—either a Thursday evening or a Friday morning. Samples and hands-on techniques at each meeting.

Stonehenge Block of the Month

Jamestown Sampler Quilt

We have an exciting new Block of the Month program beginning featuring Stonehenge fabrics. The quilt features twelve 12” blocks with additional log cabin blocks to complete the pattern. Your choice of bright or neutral fabrics. (Stop by the store to see posters of each colorway) Monthly costs are $14.95 which includes all the fabric for the borders and setting blocks as well as the directions and fabric for the monthly block. This makes a queen sized quilt. A king size is available at an additional cost. Directions suggest using Marti Michell’s Perfect Patchwork Templates, which will be available for purchase in our store.
